Botero is a ballet inspired by the life and work of Colombian artist Fernando Botero, famous for his signature style of large, voluminous figures, known as Boterismo.

 

Created in the early 2020s, the piece brings Botero’s paintings and sculptures to life through dance. A small, recurring figure – a fly – guides the artist through his studio, connecting his artworks and animating the characters of his world on stage.
